Mock Turtleneck and Dressform

February 7, 2009 By Carla

Here’s my version of Kwik Sew 2740 view B.  If I can figure out how to get rid of the wrinkle at the bust line, I’m making a ton of these.

So far this is my second garment that I’ve sewn that I can actually wear.  I plan to increase that number this year 🙂

That’s what I’ve named my first dressform.  I found her on Craigslist.  I just love that place!  She was $60 and she didn’t have a stand.  I made a trip to Lowes to buy two threaded metal rods, nuts, washers.  I couldn’t figure out how to make the stand.  A friend recomended a Christmas tree stand and gave me one of her but it was too big.  A week later, I stopped at the Ace Hardware where they were selling all Christmas items for 75% off.   I bought a white, metal and led light tree for $10.  I kept the stand and got rid of the pitiful looking tree and VIOLA!

That’s it for now.
